The Michelin Guide, known worldwide as the ultimate authority in dining excellence, has officially landed in the Philippines.
During the inaugural Michelin Guide Ceremony: Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026, seven restaurants from Quezon City received distinctions, showcasing the city’s diverse food culture and world-class dining experience.
About The Michelin Guide
Originating in central France in the 1920s, the Michelin Guide began as a humble travel booklet by the Michelin tire company to help motorists find exceptional food and lodging. Today, it has become the most trusted benchmark for restaurant quality, celebrating the mastery, creativity, and consistency of chefs and their craft.
Every year, Michelin Guide Restaurant Inspectors visit restaurants around the world in complete anonymity and evaluate them based on these key criteria:
Quality of products
Mastery of flavour and cooking techniques
The personality of the chef represented in the dining experience
Harmony of flavours
Consistency between inspectors’ visits
Their reviews reflect the highest standards of global dining, and each distinction represents a different level of mastery:
Michelin Stars
Awarded to restaurants that exemplify the pinnacle of culinary craftsmanship:
One Star — For consistently outstanding dishes made with top-quality ingredients and expert technique.
Two Stars — For chefs whose creativity and expertise elevate every dish into refined, inspired cuisine.
Three Stars — The highest honor, reserved for extraordinary cooking that transforms dining into an unforgettable art form.
Bib Gourmand
Recognizes restaurants offering exceptional food at great value. Though often more casual, these establishments display remarkable skill, balance, and passion.
Michelin Selected
Celebrates restaurants known for quality, character, and consistency, delivering memorable dining experiences that meet Michelin’s rigorous standards.
